1:1 Strategic Meeting

The deadline for registering for the vendor showcase has passed. 40 preselected certified diverse suppliers will have the opportunity to conduct 2-3 minute capabilities presentation. The audience will include representatives and primes from the participating cable company that will be able to request a 1:1 meeting for the afternoon 1:1 Strategic Connections.

1:1 Strategic Meetings

Attending DBEs participating in the showcase will received requested 1:1 meetings as well as DBEs not selected for the showcase will have the opportunity to request meetings onsite.

Focused Mini Workshops

During the Vendor Showcase, multiple industry-specific mini-workshops will take place in the general session room allowing DBEs to learn key industry trends. Topics Include: Tips to Doing Business in the Cable Industry - presented by a success DBE prime suppliers, Global Impacts and Industry Trends - presented by cable company representative(s), Critical Insight to Doing Business with Cable Companies - led by a Procurement Specialist

9:10 am – 9:30 am (PST) - Cable's Commitment to Diversity - Keynote by Michelle Ray

Telecommunication companies are essential to keeping the United States connected. As the country shifted to working from home and endured recent social unrest, the commitment to diversity and social justice has become an important focus for California cable companies. Michelle Ray, Executive Director of the Walter Kaitz Foundation, will share how telecommunications is providing support and resources around diversity, equality, and inclusion.

9:30 am - 10:20 am (PST) - Engagement. Education. Connection: Cable Keeps California Connected

With COVID as the backdrop, Supply Chain executives share key insights into the cable and telecommunications industry’s response to the current supplier environment and offer up thoughts on how best to navigate. Participants will learn what companies are doing differently and how suppliers can leverage new opportunities that will drive community engagement and result in critical impact for business ecosystems.

10:30 am - 11:10 am (PST) - The Pursuit of Success - Key Tier 1 and Tier 2 Partnerships

Success within Tier 1 and Tier 2 relationships for diverse businesses in the cable industry, and the journey with developing relationships and winning business with cable companies. The successful Prime and Subcontractor panel will discuss what it takes to pivot as corporations pivot and the critical need to constantly align your company as a strategic partner at all levels.

11:15 am - 12:00 pm (PST) - Insight and Resources for Business Success in a Post COVID World

A panel of leaders from key California based business organizations will discuss what they are learning as they monitor the business health and needs of their members. As leaders, they have been in touch with companies from every industry all over California and will provide advice and actions business owners can take to maintain and grow your business. Each organization will highlight immediate resources available to business owners and how to determine what resources are a good fit.

12:00 pm - 12:10 pm (PST) - 1:1 Virtual Matchmaker Information

Diverse Suppliers who successfully register and submit a company description and keywords by October 27, 2020 will be reviewed and preselected by Cable Company representatives and prime suppliers. Individual meeting invites will be sent by calendar invite and will include all parties that will participate in the 1:1 virtual meeting. Each meeting will take place in the Cable Company and/or prime suppliers preferred virtual meeting room. Please review all meeting invites to make sure you can access the Zoom, Microsoft Team, WebEx, or other link.
